Having served in the United States Air Force and spent decades running businesses here at home, I understand the grit and integrity required to open your doors every single morning. No. Appearing on The Buzz on Biz is completely free for selected local business owners. There are no surprise production charges, booking fees, or mandatory paid placement requirements. Our mission is to celebrate genuine local business stories.

How much time does the recording session take?

We deeply respect your busy workday. The total recording block lasts approximately 40 minutes: 10 minutes of initial sound check and informal chat, followed by a focused 30-minute conversation or more depending on you. We wrap up promptly on schedule.

Where does the interview take place?

All sessions are conducted remotely through a Zoom video link. You can record from the comfort of your own office, workspace, or home. All you need is a reliable internet connection, a quiet room, and a laptop with a webcam.

What types of businesses are eligible to apply?

We welcome founders, owners, and operators across Central Illinois. Whether you run a retail shop, professional service firm, contracting business, or emerging local enterprise, your community lessons and insights qualify.

When will our episode be published and live?

Episodes normally go live within 1 to 2 weeks following recording. Our post-production team handles all audio mastering, video edits, and show notes. You will receive private review access and customized promotional assets prior to launch.

Do I need to memorize a script or prepare talking points?

Not at all. We never use rigid scripts. A few days before recording, we email a brief conversation guide with 4 to 5 natural discussion topics. During the interview, our host facilitates a smooth, conversational flow that highlights your strengths.
